Welcome

Hello Friends and newcomers, Welcome to my sounds…Ill try to keep it short, but here’s a little info on how this got created…

I’ve been pickin’ & strummin’ for many moons around the NYC area. I’m a Jersey boy, bread and spread around just outside the beast…I’ve visited and played and partied and slept in The City more times than I care to remember…it’s fun, but it has it’s challenges, as you can imagine. Plenty of inspirations come as well…

Back in May 2022, I contacted Glenn Taylor (TaylorMade Recordings) about visiting his place and having a discussion about how I wanted to approach the songs. I was pleased to see that the studio had a myriad of choices of quality guitar amps, two mic’d drumsets, a Hammond organ w two separate Leslie cabs, a grand piano and lotsa knobs, sliders, switches and scrollers in the control room to play with. The discussion we had was quite short. It kinda went like this:

”Glenn, do you know how to use all this stuff? Do you know what button to push when without becoming a search for a diamond in the coal mine”?

”Yeah, pretty much”.

”Alrighty then, lets book a session”…

It was my intention from the start to have some talented friends from my area into the recording process. I sent out demos to some drummers and singers, and this is who they are

I give my hugest gratitudes to all of you who helped me get this done.
You are all brothers and sisters.

More songs to come soon…

The first fella who came in was drummer extraordinaire Don Guinta. He plays with several local bands, one being in Dave Fields’ group. Dave is one helluva guitarist, kinda like a cross between Jeff Beck and Joe Satriani, and he needs a drummer strong as an ox to play with him. That man is Don Guinta. He’s a lefty rhythmic master, and felt this the first time I saw him play. Fun as hell to watch and appreciate what his mind throws out thru his drum sticks.  He was finished with this track in 3 takes. Glenn and I sat in the control in utter silence for about 5 seconds after the last take ended. Glenn turned to me and said “I think he’s done”.

Say no more. DG nailed it that quickly. It took longer to get his own kit set up and mic’d up than he playing…just fantastic stuff…

The young lass her lends ger voice to this song is none other than Rachel Wise, who’s been fronting a great band named Rachel Wise and the Guys, and always puts on an entertaining show. A mix of classic country and bluesy rock, she sings her tail off and is very impressive to watch live. She’s got a sweet sounding twang to her voice and I think she lends great color to “Nameless Town”
